Arrive in Alice
Springs. Transfer to the selected hotel. The rest of the day is at
commence your 3-Day Alice Springs, Ayers Rock & Kings Canyon Tour -
travel by luxury coach from Alice Springs to Ayers Rock Resort, with
comprehensive commentary from your Driver/Guide. We visit a camel farm
where there is time for the adventurous to take a ride (small charge). Stop
to view majestic Mt. Conner before arriving at Ayers Rock Resort.
Colours of Uluru
Early start this
morning to watch the first sunlight of the day creep across the desert
plains. Enjoy a warming cup of tea or coffee as the morning sun slowly
changes the colour of Uluru. Those wishing to climb Uluru will be
rewarded with spectacular views from the top. Enjoy a guided tour around the
base of Uluru where you will see a number of interesting features
including a walking tour to Mutitjulu Waterhole. There is also time to visit
the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre before returning to Ayers Rock
experience the excitement of the canyon rim walk, making the rocky climb will
reward you with marvellous views. The climb may take up to three hours
and is for the energetic. Alternatively, you may wish to explore the
boulder-strewn Canyon floor, an easier, shady walk.
West Macdonnell Ranges
morning depart your hotel on a full day West MacDonnell Ranges & Alice
Springs Desert Park Tour - travel west from Alice Springs following the
spectacular West MacDonnell Ranges. Pass the John Flynn Memorial
(founder of the Royal Flying Doctor Service). Stop at Simpsons Gap with its
lovely river red gum scenery and white sands. On to magical Standley
Chasm, a narrow crevice in the range. Walk into the Chasm along the stony
watercourse lined with cycads, ghost gums, acacias and cypress pines.
Continue westward to Ellery Creek Gorge before arriving at Ormiston
Gorge. Time at leisure at this picturesque waterhole (opportunity for a
swim in the summer months) followed by a delicious picnic lunch. This
afternoon visit the Alice Springs Desert Park to see desert plants and
animals, presented in habitats that represent the arid zone of Australia.
Learn how people have managed and changed the desert environment over
thousands of years before returning to Alice Springs at approximately
